Opposite the May 18th Memorial cemetery, about 10km north of Gwangju is an enormous graveyard. Mangwol Park Graveyard is a mammoth. Look at the satellite image below to put it into perspective. It is located on a steep hill with a spectacular view north over the valley towards Damyang. I think it is probably the best viewpoint in Gwangju. It's easy to get to and it is well worth a visit.
Head out of Gwangju on road 29, then get onto the farm roads for a quiet ride out there.
It's a steep steep climb to the top.
In a car park near the top was a giant pile of old fake flowers that are waiting to be got rid of.
Sean approached a dead end. We had to turn around and head back up this hill.
